With 2025 flying by, the mid-year point is a great time to pause and reflect on the incredible ways Mitel employees worldwide have come together to support their communities. From environmental cleanups and educational collaborations to life-saving health efforts and food relief programs, our regional teams continue to show what it means to lead with purpose.
At Mitel, giving back is more than a value—it’s something we live out across our offices and regions. Here’s a look at some of the inspiring initiatives our teams have been part of so far in the last few months:
Preparing for Camp: Christie Lake Kids

Just last week, on one of the summer’s hottest days, Mitel volunteers headed to Ottawa’s Christie Lake Kids to prepare camp for the season. The team painted cabins, repaired tables, installed new doors, and cleared storm-felled trees—true “sweat equity” that will contribute to a beautiful campground for welcoming hundreds of campers in the weeks ahead.
Christie Lake Kids offers free arts, sports, and leadership programs to local youth ages 6-17, helping them build skills and confidence to break the cycle of poverty. Thanks to the team’s efforts, campers will arrive at a safer, brighter space where they can learn, grow, and have a fun experience this summer.
Protecting the Planet: Athens Coastline Cleanup

In Athens, the Mitel team took action to protect marine life by partnering with the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) for a beach cleanup. Together, they removed over 10 kilograms of litter and recyclables, helping prevent pollution and raising awareness around sustainability. Their effort showed that small actions can lead to big change regarding environmental responsibility.
Feeding Communities: Volunteering at Foodbank Australia

Steve Comerford from our Australia team donated 30 hours to support Foodbank, Australia’s largest hunger relief organization. His work in the warehouse contributed to their mission of feeding people in need, as they help to provide food and grocery relief to 2,929 front-line charities and 3,220 school breakfast programs. Last year, Foodbank sourced enough food for 92 million meals and is aiming for more in 2025. Way to go, Steve!
Fostering Innovation: Partnering with VIT University

In India, our Education Collaboration Site Initiative team launched a partnership with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). This collaboration aims to connect students with real-world tech experience through hackathons, internships, and the potential creation of a Mitel Lab. It’s an exciting step in empowering the next generation of innovators.
Celebrating Culture: Family Day in Mitel India

Also in India, our Mitel team celebrated June’s Family Day—an event filled with color, music, food, and tradition. Employees brought their families to the office, creating an atmosphere of connection, inclusion, and joy. From vibrant ethnic attire to nostalgic games, a karaoke performance, and delicacies, the day was filled with beautiful moments that reminded us of the values we uphold every day: community, diversity, and belonging.
Empowering Local Families: Supporting The Springfield Project

In the UK, our social value partnership with BayNel led to a meaningful collaboration with The Springfield Project—a Birmingham-based charity dedicated to empowering children, young people, and families in Sparkhill. Mitel is contributing pro bono content support for the charity’s 2024/2025 Impact Report, helping to expand community programming, ensure an effective showcase of programs and achievements, and highlight their incredible work enriching lives in the local community.
Fostering Fun and Friendship: Royal Ottawa Place’s Amazing Race

Last week, eight Mitel employees joined residents at Royal Ottawa Place for their first-ever Amazing Race. Royal Ottawa Place is a long-term care home located on the grounds of the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre that supports and enhances the quality of life for adults with stable mental illness and/or physical limitations, and others who may benefit from a home-like environment.
At the event, our volunteers teamed up with ROP residents representing different Canadian provinces to tackle fun challenges, like a provincial map puzzle, speed tic-tac-toe, and rapid-fire Canadian trivia. The race featured friendly competition, frantic teamwork, and an end-of-race ice cream celebration. Cheers to our team for embracing the event, building friendships with the residents, and helping to make the first ROP Amazing Race such a memorable outing!
Life-Saving Support: Blood Donation in Athens

Also in Athens, the Mitel Athens team hosted a blood donation drive supporting the General Hospital of Athens, G. Gennimatas. The May event raised 20 units of blood to support local medical emergencies and reserve units for Mitel employees and their families if needed. It was a powerful reminder of our direct impact on community health and well-being.
A Shared Spirit of Service
These stories are just a snapshot of Mitel’s global commitment to creating a positive impact where we live and work. Whether through community partnerships, health initiatives, environmental efforts, or educational outreach, our teams continue to demonstrate that innovation and compassion go hand in hand.
As we look ahead to the rest of 2025, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and even more excited about what’s next. Thank you to all our employees and teams from around the globe who have come together to build up their communities. Let’s keep showing the world how Mitel Serves!
