Last month, we took the wraps off a completely revamped Mitel.com. To mark the milestone, Mitel’s CMO Eric Hanson sat down with techfluencer Evan Kirstel to walk through what the new site means for customers and partners and why it goes deeper than just a new look and feel. As the conversation covers, it reflects the reality that many organizations, especially enterprise customers, are pivoting from pure cloud solutions to hybrid communications strategies that provide greater flexibility and choice.
We have all heard about AI's many benefits, but there is increasing buzz around agentic AI and what it could mean for business. Many tech watchers view it as the next frontier in the AI evolution, so CIO magazine interviewed tech-forward executives to get their thoughts. Mitel’s CTO, Luiz Domingos, offered his perspective on how agentic AI could transform the customer experience (CX).
At the end of April, news broke that Mitel was partnering with Canadian corporate accelerator L-SPARK to launch a new program for startups wanting to enter the unified communications space. The program will provide early-stage AI, IoT, and AR/VR companies the opportunity to integrate their applications with Mitel solutions. The focus on using emerging technologies to deliver practical solutions for sectors like healthcare, retail, and hospitality generated interest from publications in Canada and Europe, including this piece from IP Insider.
Exciting news has emerged from a partnership that Mitel and NEC Software Solutions (NECSWS) announced last year to deliver streamlined emergency and non-emergency contact handling for voice and digital channels. The International Fire and Safety Journal reports that the London Fire Brigade has now selected NECSWS and Mitel to integrate cutting-edge technology, including live translation, to improve response times.
Mitel’s OpenScape Voice solution has achieved a sought-after certification from a U.S. Department of Defense testing agency. The Joint Interoperability Test Command, or JITC, tested the carrier-grade enterprise communication solution against strict interoperability, availability, and cybersecurity standards. The results show that OpenScape Voice meets high security standards and can be trusted in even the most critical environments across public and private sectors.
Finally, we have more Mitel award news to share. CRN has honored a group of Mitel leaders in this year’s Women of the Channel list. This annual CRN list recognizes women from vendors, distributors, solution providers, and other channel-focused organizations who positively impact the IT ecosystem.
Mitel’s hybrid UC solution has also been recognized with a business tech award in enterprise communications by the 13th Annual Compass Intelligence Awards.
