Enable/Disable Additional Database Fields
The Additional Database Fields (ADF) feature is disabled by default.
When the ADF feature is enabled, the console
Immediately loads the Directory data.
Enables the Directory Maintenance Reload Now button (in the Directory Administration Maintenance panel).
Clears all the search fields in the Directories panel (BLF and Phone Book panes).
Refreshes the Directories area with the ADF fields specified in the Directory files.
Displays the Phone Books Status tooltip in the Status Area to indicate that the ADF directory file is being used.
Is able to support the User Messaging, Multiple Company Directory, and Calendar Integration features.
You can
Load the Directory data from Tools -> Directory Administration -> Maintenance.
Schedule automatic reloads of directory data.
The console also automatically loads the Directory data on start up by locating the Directory files using the file names and paths that you specify using Directory Administration.
Note: If the console cannot locate the Directory files at start up, it defaults to using the MiVoice Business telephone directory instead of the ADF Directory data.
To enable or disable the Additional Database Fields feature
Select Tools from the Main Menu.
Then click Directory Administration, then Configuration.
Select or clear the check box beside Use the Additional Database Fields feature.
Click Apply or OK.
You may disable the ADF feature if the Directory data has become corrupt or if the files are on a shared server that has become unavailable. You can disable the ADF feature until the problem is corrected.
When you switch the ADF feature from enabled to disabled, the console
Ignores all configuration information related to ADF.
Cancels, clears, and disables the scheduled reload of Directory Data in the Directory Maintenance pane.
Disables the Reload Now button.
Clears all search fields in the Directories (BLF and Phone Book) panel.
Reverts to MiVoice Business mode and uses the MiVoice Business telephone directory for all directory data.
Grays out the Comments field so that you may read comments, but not edit them. Editing functionality is restored when the ADF feature is turned back on.
Displays the Phone Books Status tooltip in the Status Area to indicate that the MiVoice Business Telephone Directory is being used.
Can no longer support the User Messaging, Multiple Company Directory, and Calendar Integration features.
