Call History Searching Tips
The guidelines below provide tips for searching Call History.
Searching is not case-sensitive.
Multi-column search is supported.
Tabbing between search fields is supported. When tabbing to a field that contains text, the existing text will not be highlighted and the cursor will be placed at the end. That permits refining the search criteria to obtain a better match. To clear out the field to enter all new text, press the Escape key or Control-A and start typing.
When a new search is started by displaying the panel or pressing the F11 - [New Search], all search fields will be cleared and the list will be blanked.
Auto-search (search while typing like phone book search) will not work for Call History. You will need to press Enter or [Search] to start a search.
For Multiple calls from the same caller name and number combination to the same destination name and number combination, only one record is shown. The last call’s call time is displayed in the Call Time column and number of call counts in the Frequency column. For example, if caller Jeff Mills with number 613 252 4499 talks with Stephen Bray with extension/number 55400 for five time, then that record shows Jeff Mills in Caller Name column, Stephen Bray in Destination Name and 5 in frequency column.
Entries are not highlighted in the returned results and focus will remain in the search criteria area.
To refresh the search results with same search parameter, press the [Search] button. If you wish to keep the single column search results and enter a multi-column item (i.e. old search item + new item), an implicit New Search is performed. This removes all currently displayed search results.
If what you have typed does not match any entries, the search box turns yellow and a message informs you that there are no matching entries.
The maximum number of results that a call history search returns can be configured. For more information, see Options (Call History).
